Rotisserie Chicken Dinner from Pinterest was delicious and easy!

with Banana Bars for desert as well as delivering a tray full of bars to Ben’s school for the teachers dinner.  Parent/Teacher conferences were Wednesday night.  A lady, Carolyn T., I use to work with gave me this recipe and I’ve never found a more delicious banana bar recipe.  The sour cream is the secret.

Frosted Banana Bars

Cream together in large bowl:  1/2 cup softened butter and 1 1/2 cup sugar.  Add 2 eggs, 1 cup sour cream, and 1 teaspoon vanilla.  In separate bowl whisk together 2 cups flour, 1 tsp. baking soda, and 1/4 tsp. salt.  Gradually add to butter mixture.  Stir in 2 medium ripe bananas, mashed. Spread into greased 15x10x1 inch baking pan.  Bake at 350 degrees for 25 – 30 minutes.  Cool completely then frost with cream cheese frosting.  Store in refrigerator.

I also tried a recipe from Pinterest for leftover mashed potato soup that was good!  I added bacon bits and 1/2 tsp. Celery Salt to this recipe.  It was soooo creamy and thick!

And finally, Izzy has been in training to be a gift wrapper?

Pregnant Woman Funny Story

A woman goes to her doctor who verifies that she is pregnant. This is her first pregnancy. The doctor asks her if she has any questions.

She replies, “Well, I’m a little worried about the pain. How much will childbirth hurt?”

The doctor answered, “Well, that varies from woman to woman and pregnancy to pregnancy and besides, it’s difficult to describe pain.”

“I know, but can’t you give me some idea?” she asks.
“Grab your upper lip and pull it out a little…”
“Like this?”
“A little more…”
“Like this?”
“No. A little more…”
“Like this?”
“Yes. Does that hurt?”
“A little bit.”
“Now stretch it over your head!”

Pumpkin. Pumpkin. Pumpkin.

Decorated my pumpkin for Halloween.  Since Ben is not so into holidays the past couple of years and my grandsons do not come over that often, I don’t decorate like I use to, but I really like the mice and pumpkin idea.  A bit like Cinderella instead of Halloween?  Oh well.

I cleaned my baking cabnet out and found two boxes of cake mix that expired a month and two months ago so I made two cakes today.  Pumpkin Spice cake:

Mix at medium speed one box Spice Cake Mix, 1 15 oz can pumpkin, and 3 eggs.  Pour into 13×9 baking dish and bake at 325 degrees for 40 minutes.  Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve.

Pumpkin Angel Food Cake:

Beat 1 package Angel Food Cake mix with 1 15 oz can pumpkin and 1 tsp. pumpkin pie spice on low speed until blended then for 1 minute on medium speed.  Pour into greased fluted pan.  Bake at 325 degrees for 40 minutes.  Immediately turn onto plate.  No glass bottle needed.  Cake will not rise as an Angel Food cake would.

A Hamburger Helper

I use a potato masher to make my ground meats perfect for gravies, dips, and sauces.  Works great!

Last days of warm weather here in Missouri so we are grilling a lot. Easy grilled chicken is just marinading frozen boneless, skinless chicken breast in Zesty Italian Salad Dressing (just enough to cover the chicken) overnight (or freeze the chicken in the dressing and it will marinade as it defrosts).

Grill and it is perfect!  Great with pasta salad or baked potato and a green salad.

My friend is decorating her spare bedroom in orange and hot pink.  Looks better than it sounds. I found these lamps at Hobby Lobby and Alice loved them!

She has this gorgeous orange couch and love seat (very retro!) so I am working on an aghan shaped like a huge hot pink star to contrast with the rectangles and squares of the couch.  I think it will be a great Christmas present.

Very simple pattern of shell stitches that can be found on Ravelry here.

I’ve been using the Walmart Savings Catcher app since July and so far I’ve got $3.53 back in savings.  We probably spend $300 to $400 a month at Walmart on food, cleaning supplies, pet supplies, and odds and ends.

And finally:

Get free prints for a year and more on the new Snapfish App!  It has to be a new email address to get the free prints for a year, but my daughter in law already got her free 100 prints for this month so it is worth it.
