Local Book Club Night

This month we read Half Broke Horses by Jeannette Walls.    This was my first night with the group and it was really nice.  Great to hear other’s opinions and voice your own.  The majority of the group is women over 55, but there were two young men in their late twenties or early thirties and they added a lot to the group.  I liked, of course, the psychological side of comparing granddaughter to mother to grandmother to great grandmother.  How they differed and were the same in personality and child rearing tactics.  It makes me sad though.  Especially if you read Glass Houses, the book about Jeannette’s mother.  What we do to our children.
